Becky Dale

Becky Dale was introduced as the head coach of the women's lacrosse team in July 2022 and brought the team back to the NCAA Tournament in her first season at the helm.

Dale opened her career as a head coach with three straight victories, capped with an emphatic 18-0 shutout over Salem State in 2023. The Panthers finished the regular season with a 10-6 record, with four losses coming to NESCAC programs, including three nationally-ranked teams. The difficult non-conference slate helped PSU to go 6-1 in LEC play to claim the second seed for the LEC Tournament.

Dale guided PSU past Southern Maine in a back-and-forth semifinal win, then helped the team rally from a two-goal deficit with less than three minutes to play to beat WestConn in overtime for the program's ninth conference title. The Panthers fell to nationally-ranked Trinity in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

A trip to NCAAs was nothing new for Dale, who won a pair of LEC Championships and made two trips to the NCAA Tournament as a player, then helped the Panthers advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in her first of two seasons as an assistant coach.

Plymouth State went 47-20 and made four consecutive LEC Tournament finals appearances during Dale's four seasons (2014-17), winning conference titles her freshman and senior years. She returned to campus as an assistant coach for the 2019 season to help PSU to a third-straight LEC title, before earning the program's second NCAA Tournament victory the following week.

All told, the Panthers have played in the conference finals in each of her six full seasons with the team as a player and coach, winning four championships, two regular season titles and appearing in four NCAA Tournaments.

Dale served as assistant coach at Skidmore College for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Tasked with leading the defense, she instilled player-to-player, rover, backer and zone defensive concepts while mentoring two All-Liberty League honorees. Dale was also responsible for film review, Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) film exchange, scouting reports, and recruiting, where she committed a class of eight student-athletes.

Dale represented the Thoroughbreds in lacrosse clinics along the east coast, working with other top collegiate coaches to present drills and teaching points with a hands-on approach. During her two seasons, Skidmore boasted 15 All-Liberty League Academic Team honorees and three IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll selections.

Dale had previously patrolled the sidelines for the Panthers during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. PSU was a perfect 7-0 in the LEC (12-6 overall) in 2019, claiming the conference regular season and tournament titles while heading back to the NCAA Tournament for a third straight season. The Panthers set multiple school records in a 19-3 win over New England College in the first round, the program's second-ever NCAA Tournament win.

Plymouth State had been picked to repeat as conference champs in 2020, but the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic limited the team to just six games and the LEC canceled the season prior to the start of conference play.

Additionally, Dale spent two years as a club coach with New Hampshire Tomahawks Lacrosse, running practices and tournaments for high school and youth-aged players. She was involved with various camps, as well as summer, fall and winter practice sessions.

A three-year starter at defense, Dale bookended her playing career with LEC Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances. The senior captain was recognized with an All-LEC First Team selection in her final season. She posted career totals of 83 ground balls, 33 draw controls and 34 caused turnovers.
